The United Nation has heaped praises on Nigeriaas regards her Anti-Boko Haram campaign.
The organization has particularly praised President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet for their commitment in the fight against the insurgency in the Northern part of the country. A member of the UNCounter Terrorist Centre, Mr. Weixiong Chen had that to say when he led the UNdelegation that visited the NigeriaPrisons Service (NPS) to the Controller-General, Dr. Peter Ekpendu.
Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) through its spokesperson, Francis Enobore quoted Mr Chen as saying: “Appreciable success that has been recorded in the counter-terrorism, reformation and rehabilitation drive of the prisons service through the support of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), European Union and other development partners.”
The UN official from the Counter Terrorist Centre during the visit said that the fight against terrorism is a joint fight that requires determination and vigour.
Mr. Weixiong Chen further said that Nigeriais the first African nation to make use of a lesser hard approach to curtailing terrorism and therefore through that showed its ability to be a role model to other sister states in the fight.
